Although we have continued to have some less than optimal outcomes with the archiving function of Mixcloud, I have been extremely please with the live show.
Mixcloud Live's live stream platform allows for us to send out a high fidelity (320kps) broadcast that captures the essence and impact of what we are hearing in our dark basement as we perform the show.
We have continued to scour the World Wide Web to find more great 80s bands and their songs that harmoniously join the large grouping of artists that have been essential to our DJ work and internet endeavors for decades. We have also deepened the song inventory for many of the groups we have held dear since this all started, to keep the show fresh.
The group of folks that listen have always been a delight, with the chat area a wonderful and active place for quite a few thoughtful discussions, as well as some hilarious off-topic sidebars. Above all, the common love of music always comes through. Thanks to all of the regular listeners for adding a whole new dimension to the proceedings, and making it much better than it could ever be otherwise!
One other thing that has evolved about the show in the last few weeks is the last hour or so... The final segment or two of the program have taken on lives of their own, going off into interesting directions that we have no way of anticipating, and more often than not ending up with content that is very enjoyable, and both completely unique and compelling.
It has been energizing to try and respond to, and keep up with, the rapid-fire discussions and requests that have yielded these terrific tangents!
In closing, we love the weekly Mixcloud Live live stream show, and we think you will too. If you haven't had the chance, please join us on Fridays at 3 PM ET (We usually do a thematic preshow starting in the 2 PM hour if you are early), and meet the gang! It will all be going on right here! - www.mixcloud.com/live/genericmaledjs
