We sure do miss the old GMDJs Radio steam on Radionomy - It was a lot of fun to research and program, and lots of people listened to and enjoyed it over its 4+ year run.
Now, Mixcloud has thrown its hat into the live streaming game in a big way, with a ton of work done in a short time to give MC account holders like us the option of live streaming DJ sets or other programming live, with all copyright and usage fees paid to the rights holders!
Many DJs have been trying to live stream on Facebook, Instagram or other places, but the chances of being cut off due to copyright considerations is high. Mixcloud allows a way to do it legit, allowing curators and creators to focus on the most important thing - getting great content out to the fans!
We have already begun testing out the new Mixcloud features. It is in Beta, and a lot more features are coming, but the audio sounds good and the streaming process had minimal issues last Friday.
Join us this Friday at 4:00 PM ET (We may go live sooner than that if you dare to join earlier) and hear your favorite 80s New Wave and Alternative songs done the way we've done it for almost 35 years!
