Another good outing! Nice songs, good chat, and a weird and silly show intro song that I made in Suno.-ai starts it all off!

God, I'm old.
Actually, getting older by the day. This Saturday, I will mark the 60th anniversary of my arrival to this existence, which understandably leaves me with a hodgepodge of mixed feelings. Having said that, I fully plan to leave any negative sentiments for later this weekend, as I invite you all to join me for the 173rd(!) musical celebration of the 80s, my favorite musical decade! There will be a little bit of everything as we move along; a continuous flow of entertaining chat, some truly stupendous music, and a familiar slide show that has grown to become one of my most faithful performance accomplices in my old age. And, true to form as I head into my golden years, I will bring the whole thing to an abrupt end promptly at 7:00 PM ET, to make sure I do not miss my progressively early bedtime! Please join me for a request or two, a piece of dry sheet cake, and a whole slew of (mostly) 80s tunes that will make us all feel a bit younger than the calendar says! -- Below is the archive of the session I performed earlier today, please enjoy! --
Apparently, Friday, March 22nd is National Goof-Off Day, as well as National Talk Like William Shakespeare Day.
We are inclined to do the former naturally, but have not really tried the latter, until now, so here we go... -- Hark, forsooth! On the morrow (3-22-2024), I bid thee joineth me in a wondrous reverie—a live stream most splendid! 'Tis none other than the “Friday Happy Hour Live” where synth doth harmonize with neon, and aged listeners swayeth in (sometimes) rhythmic delight. Melodies of yesteryear will propel the gathering; from the vinyl, cassette, and compact disc-laden depths, we shall summon forth the dulcet strains of Duran Duran, The Cure, the illustrious Adam Ant, and so many more of their ilk. Fear not, for our minstrels wield Prophet-5 synths and electric guitars, conjuring joyful refrains that will echo across the digital moors. Behold! Our virtual stage on Mixcloud, bedecked in recurring visual keepsakes and nostalgia, awaits thy presence. As the clock chimes seven minutes before the sixteenth hour (3:53 PM ET), we shall embark upon a sonic voyage, an auditory odyssey through the musical annals of yore. Fare thee well, fellow time-traveler! May thy bandwidth be swift, and thy heart aglow with retro rapture. Until the appointed hour, when the 80s beckon once more! --
We did it - We survived the Ides Of March without incident.
The show was terrific this week, with no technical issues and great audio quality, as far as these veteran ears can tell. Please check this out and let me know what you think at dj@genericmale.com , or just comment below! Have a great week, will be back on the air next Friday, see you all then! |
